There will be a small workshop for all bioinformaticians in Stockholm/uppsala March 11, 2003 at Astra in Södertälje. Please contact Arne Elofsson if you want to make a presentation. For more info see this page for more info.

2002-12-15 CASP5
SBC showed great sucess at the CASP5 meeting. For the first time two automatic servers were selected to give presentations. One was the Pmodeller server developed by Arne Elofsson and co-worker, the second one was Robetta developed by David Baker. Both these servers use the Pcons server, also developed in the group of Arne Elofsson, as their input.

2002-08-19 MHC predictions helps development of new vaccines
SBC has recently developed a novel approach, SVMHC, based on support vector machines to predict the binding of peptides to MHC class I molecules. This method seems to perform slightly better than earlier methods and is freely available.

Calling All Nordic Phd Students and Post-docs... The NorFa NBN network together with EBI will arrange an advanced PhD/postdoc course on 'Databases in Bioinformatics' October 4-5 at EBI. NBN will cover essentially all expenses. Attendance is limited to 40 students.
