The Adaptive Evolution Database

The Adaptive Evolution Database (TAED) 2.1

The mammalian version of TAED has been removed from this site. A new version of TAED containing both chordate and higher plant (Embryophyta) data is now in place.
This dataset is complementary to a paper that has been published. Measurement of adaptive evolution is based upon the ratio of nonsynonymous nucletotide substitution rate to synonymous nucleotide substitution rate. Genes that appear on this list may be there because of coding sequence mutation during speciation (orthologues), following gene duplication events (paralogues), because of intraspecific variation, or because of alternative splicing.
The leaves and asterisks are clickable to obtain lists of genes undergoing adaptive evolution at this point in evolutionary history. This data has been generated from the Master Catalog (EraGen Biosciences, Alachua, FL) rendering of GenBank 113. Unfortunately, MSAs and trees are not currently viewable at this website. You will have to contact EraGen to obtain this information.
The annotation and taxonomy are derived automatically from NCBI.
If you are interested in viewing the old TAED or have any questions about the new TAED, please email me.
