It has now been more than a decade since the Computational Biology group introduced Darwin, a bioinformatics workbench, and used it to complete the first exhaustive matching of a modern protein sequence database. Today, a naturally organized database, the MasterCatalog, is supporting the discovery of diagnostics and therapeutics products. For the specialist in this field, this talk will describe recent advances in the computational analysis of protein sequences.
